Choose a professional by service and location. Read their profile, review the dates and scope of each check, and call the business directly. No homeowner account or project-request form.
A checkmark should mean something.
Before publishing a real listing, we review business and identity details, applicable licensing or local registration, and an appropriate completed background screening result. Insurance and references are optional and do not determine publication eligibility. An insurance upload alone is not verification. Each check states who it covers, its source, the date reviewed, and any expiration or recheck date.
What this does—and doesn’t—tell you
An owner check does not cover every employee or subcontractor. No screening guarantees safety, workmanship, financial reliability, or completion. Confirm who will attend and which credentials apply to your project. Agree directly on a written scope, permits, price, and payment schedule.
The planned Checkr integration is not connected yet. No screening is automatically ordered through this site. Real profiles require reviewed results through an appropriate consent and review process; uploads alone never create verification.

Do I need an account to find a contractor?
No. Search by service and city, read the profiles and verification details, and call the contractor you choose. Browsing and contacting professionals are free for homeowners.
Are professionals available right now?
We are recruiting our founding Northeast Ohio professionals. The directory shows only approved profiles with current required checks. If no results appear, try another service or nearby city, or visit again as the network grows.
What does “verified” mean?
Each approved profile identifies the checks actually completed, their dates and scope. We review identity and business details, applicable licensing or local registration, and an appropriate background screening result before publication. Insurance and references are optional; uploaded insurance is contractor-provided unless a separate completed review is shown. The planned Checkr integration is not connected yet.
Does checking the owner cover the whole crew?
No. A check on a business owner does not cover employees or subcontractors. Each profile states who was checked. Confirm who will come to your home before hiring.
How do contractors join?
Create a professional account, build a profile, and submit it for review. Approved founding professionals receive 90 days of free listing from their first approval date. No card is required and there is no automatic charge. Any future paid subscription will require separate agreement to the price and billing terms.
Do you choose the contractor or collect my project details?
You choose. Verified Pros is a searchable directory, not a project-request or matching service. Call the professional directly and agree with them on the scope, price, permits and payment schedule.
Can verification guarantee a safe or successful job?
No screening guarantees safety, workmanship, or completion. Confirm current credentials for your project and location, ask for a written scope, and agree on payment milestones before work begins.
